Tarmac's Land and Minerals division use Asset 2000 to record all of their land and asset ownership at their quarries and associated sites across the UK and the rest of the world. Using their existing MicroStation site plans and Ordnance Survey data they have transformed their unintelligent CAD shapes into intelligent objects using AssetMapper 2000. These assets representing leases, mineral reserves and environmental constraints can now be linked to an external database so that surveyors and managers are able to easily browse through their holdings and delve deep into textual data that would be otherwise inaccessible.
